Anthropic Launches New Paid Plan for Enterprises, Along with iOS App

Anthropic, a leading generative AI startup, is launching a new paid plan called Team, aimed at enterprises in regulated industries like healthcare, finance, and legal. The plan provides higher-priority access to Anthropic’s Claude 3 family of generative AI models, along with additional admin and user management controls. The move comes in response to growing demand from enterprise customers who want to deploy Claude’s advanced AI capabilities across their organizations.

The Team plan offers greater usage per user compared to the individual premium plan, Pro, allowing users to significantly increase the number of chats they can have with Claude. It also includes a 200,000-token context window, which helps models better understand the flow of data they receive. Additionally, Team customers enjoy all the advantages of Pro, such as early access to new features.

The Team plan brings new toggles for billing and user management and will soon introduce collaboration features, including citations to verify AI-generated claims and integrations with data repositories like codebases and customer relationship management platforms. It will also offer a canvas for team members to work on AI-generated documents and projects. These features aim to enhance the collaborative experience for businesses and enable them to integrate Claude into their workflows more seamlessly.

In the near term, Team customers will be able to leverage tool use capabilities for Claude 3, which recently entered open beta. This allows users to equip Claude 3 with custom tools to perform a wider range of tasks, similar to OpenAI’s GPTs. By deeply integrating Claude into collaborative workflows, Anthropic aims to capture significant market share as more companies transition from AI experimentation to full-scale deployment.

While Anthropic appears confident in its offerings, it may still face challenges in convincing businesses of the value of AI projects. According to a recent Gartner survey, nearly half of companies find it difficult to estimate and demonstrate the value of AI projects internally. Additionally, a McKinsey poll revealed that a majority of executives believe generative AI is still years away from generating substantial business results.

Nevertheless, corporate spending on generative AI is expected to soar. IDC forecasts that it will reach $15.1 billion in 2027, growing nearly eightfold from 2023. This trend has prompted generative AI vendors, including OpenAI, to focus on the enterprise market. OpenAI’s ChatGPT Enterprise has attracted over 600,000 users, and the company has introduced tools to meet corporate compliance and governance requirements.

Anthropic’s Team plan is competitively priced at $30 per user per month, with a minimum of five seats. This pricing structure allows businesses to start small and expand gradually, supporting Anthropic’s growth while enabling enterprises to strategically leverage AI. With Amazon’s recent investment of $4 billion in Anthropic and the company’s projected revenue increase, Anthropic is well-positioned to pursue expansion through its Team plan.

In addition to the Team plan, Anthropic is launching an iOS app that provides access to Claude 3. The app offers the same functionality as the web version, including chat history syncing and photo upload capabilities. It leverages Claude 3’s vision capabilities to provide real-time analysis for uploaded and saved images. For example, users can upload screenshots of charts from a presentation and ask Claude to summarize them. The iOS app aims to make Claude a convenient and integrated part of users’ daily lives, both personally and professionally.

As Anthropic continues to develop and refine its technologies, it plans to explore new ways to deliver value to users across various platforms and use cases. This includes further mobile app development and functionality. By offering a seamless experience across different platforms, Anthropic aims to enhance user engagement with its AI assistant and provide value in diverse settings.
