Apple Analysts Predict Subscription Price for Advanced Apple Intelligence Features

Apple’s foray into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to come with a price, according to experts. Neil Shah, a partner at Counterpoint Research, predicts that premium AI features from Apple could cost between $10 and $20 for a monthly subscription. This aligns with Apple’s strategy of monetizing its value-added services through the Apple One subscription model. With Apple One starting at $19.95 a month, it seems likely that certain Apple Intelligence access could be bundled into a higher subscription tier.

Apple has a track record of successfully monetizing its value-added services, making it one of the few connected device companies to do so. This could explain why the tech giant is exploring the idea of Apple Intelligence+ to generate additional subscription revenue with its AI partners like OpenAI. It would also help offset the significant costs associated with AI investment.

While the exact timing of the launch of Apple Intelligence+ remains uncertain, some features have already been announced at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). However, they won’t be available until next year. These features include enhancements to Siri’s AI capabilities, such as understanding personal context and on-screen awareness.

In the meantime, Apple is offering users the opportunity to try out some AI-powered Siri features through the iOS 18.1 developer beta. These features include Writing Tools, Call Recording, and various other AI advancements. At present, these features are available for free, but it’s likely that they will eventually be part of the paid Apple Intelligence subscription.

It’s clear that Apple sees the potential of AI and is investing heavily in its development. By offering premium AI features through a subscription model, Apple aims to leverage its existing customer base and generate additional revenue. With the success of its value-added services and the freemium model it employs with other offerings, Apple seems primed to capitalize on the growing demand for AI-powered technology.
