Apple Unveils Redesigned Mac Mini: Smaller, More Powerful, and Cube-Like

Apple is set to release a new and redesigned version of the Mac mini, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This new Mac mini will be significantly smaller than the current model, almost approaching the size of an Apple TV set-top box. The current Mac mini measures 1.41 inches tall, 7.75 inches wide, and 7.75 inches deep, while the new version is expected to be much more compact.

The current Mac mini comes with either an M2 or M2 Pro chip, but Gurman predicts that the new version will feature Apple’s latest M4 processor. In fact, Gurman describes the new Mac mini as “essentially an iPad Pro in a small box.” This suggests that the performance of the new Mac mini will be comparable to that of the iPad Pro, which is known for its powerful capabilities.

While the specific details of the new Mac mini’s design are not yet known, Gurman mentions that it may have a more cube-like appearance and will still be made of aluminum, similar to its predecessor. Despite being smaller in size, the new Mac mini is expected to offer impressive performance, thanks to the M4 chip.

As for its availability, the new Mac mini is likely to hit the market later this year, possibly in October or later. Apple enthusiasts can look forward to two versions of the Mac mini, one with the M4 chip and another with the yet-to-be-announced M4 Pro chip. This suggests that Apple is aiming to offer different options to cater to varying user needs.

Overall, the upcoming release of the new Mac mini showcases Apple’s commitment to innovation and improving its product lineup. By incorporating their latest M4 processor into the Mac mini, Apple is ensuring that users will have access to a compact yet powerful device that can handle demanding tasks. With its smaller size and enhanced performance, the new Mac mini is set to make waves in the tech industry.
