Apple’s Foldable Tablet Rumored to Have a ‘Wrap Around Design’

Apple Rumored to Release Foldable Tablet with ‘Wrap Around Design’

Apple’s absence from the foldable phone market has been noticeable, with competitors like Samsung, Vivo, OnePlus, and Oppo all making announcements in this space. However, recent sources suggest that Apple may soon enter the foldable device market, although details about the design and specifications remain uncertain.

According to a rumor from 9to5Mac, analyst Jeff Pu believes that Apple is preparing to release a foldable tablet with a unique ‘wrap around design’. Pu previously stated in a letter that Apple would unveil a 7.9-inch foldable tablet in 2026, with a larger 20.3-inch hybrid folding gadget potentially appearing a year earlier in 2025. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities, also supported this claim, adding that Apple was developing a 20.3-inch folding MacBook.

While specific details about the upcoming foldable devices are scarce, Pu suggests that the 7.9-inch foldable could be similar to Huawei’s Mate Xs 2, while the 20.3-inch foldable might resemble the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold.

In addition to the rumors surrounding foldable devices, Apple is set to make significant announcements at its WWDC 2024 event. The company will unveil its latest operating systems for iPhones, MacBooks, Vision Pro, iPads, and the Apple Watch. Reports suggest that Apple will also make an entry into the field of generative artificial intelligence at this year’s event.

Despite competitors like Samsung and Google already embracing AI and introducing AI-powered products, Apple has yet to make a notable contribution in this area. However, recent reports indicate that Apple may be preparing to make a leap into artificial intelligence through a partnership with OpenAI. One notable aspect that sets Apple apart from its competitors is its privacy-focused approach to AI. It is rumored that Apple will prioritize on-device AI processing, meaning user data will not be transmitted to the cloud for analysis. This approach aligns with Apple’s commitment to user privacy, although it may face criticism for not creating user profiles like other major firms such as Meta and Google.

As Apple continues to explore new technological advancements, its potential entry into the foldable device market and its focus on artificial intelligence demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovation. While concrete details about the upcoming devices are still unknown, Apple enthusiasts eagerly await further announcements from the tech giant.
