“Aston Martin Unveils Next-Generation Vanquish GT with Thunderous New V12 Engine”

Aston Martin is set to bring back the iconic Vanquish name with its next-generation GT flagship. The new Vanquish will feature a powerful V12 engine, packing 824bhp and 738lb ft of torque. These figures represent significant increases over the outgoing DBS model and will make the Vanquish one of the most powerful production Astons yet. The engine has undergone extensive redevelopment, with improvements made to the cylinder block, cylinder heads, camshafts, intake and exhaust ports, and turbochargers. Aston Martin has not confirmed the specific engine capacity but has stated that the new engine will achieve “unprecedented performance and efficiency.”

The Vanquish will be the first of several “exclusive and limited-availability models” to use the overhauled V12 engine. Aston Martin’s Chief Technical Officer, Roberto Fedeli, describes the engine as the “dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin.” The Vanquish will be a lower-volume proposition compared to its DBS predecessor, with the engine being handbuilt in strictly limited numbers.

Spy shots of the Vanquish in testing reveal a wide-reaching visual makeover compared to the DBS. The front end features large vents on the bonnet to cool the 12-cylinder engine, a wider front grille, and a chunkier lower splitter for improved downforce. The rear end boasts a larger diffuser and four tailpipes, highlighting the increase in power. The Vanquish is expected to undergo a comprehensive chassis overhaul, building on the set-up deployed on the DBS 770 Ultimate.

Aston Martin aims to establish its flagship GT as a bona fide supercar, distinct from its V8-engined Vantage and DB12 siblings. This differentiation is crucial for Aston Martin to solidify its status as a maker of top-drawer sports cars. Each front-engined model will have its own distinct character and capabilities. Aston Martin’s strategy and product boss, Alex Long, emphasizes the emotional connection customers have with V12 engines and states that V12 engines are synonymous with Aston Martin.

The Vanquish is expected to be confirmed this summer, possibly at the Monterey Car Week in August. This eagerly anticipated model marks the dawn of a new V12 era for Aston Martin, showcasing the brand’s engineering passion and technical prowess. With its impressive power figures and extensive redevelopment, the Vanquish is set to be a formidable presence in the supercar market.
