Audi Introduces Limited-Edition Electric Mountain Bike with Impressive Suspension System

Audi has recently expanded its line of electric vehicles with a unique addition – an electric mountain bike. While it may not be all-wheel-drive like its other electric counterparts, this limited-edition model offers impressive features and a stylish design inspired by the RS Q E-Tron, which triumphed at the Dakar Rally in 2024.

This Audi e-bike is based on the Fantic XEF 1.9 Factory and shares many similarities in terms of its appearance and structure. It boasts a sleek two-tone black and gray frame with eye-catching orange accents on the battery cover and wheels. With 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear tires, this mountain bike is equipped for thrilling rides on various terrains.

One of the standout features of this e-bike is its top-notch suspension system. It is equipped with an air-sprung Öhlins RXF38m.2 fork at the front and a coil-sprung Öhlins TX22M.2 rear spring at the back, providing riders with an impressive 180 millimeters (around seven inches) of travel and ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride even on rough trails. Additionally, the suspension system is fully adjustable, allowing riders to customize their experience as per their preferences.

Ensuring safety is another priority for Audi, which is why they have equipped this e-bike with Sunstar brakes as standard. These high-performance brakes offer reliable stopping power, giving riders the confidence to navigate challenging terrains.

The power behind this Audi e-bike comes from a 36-volt lithium-ion battery pack, which provides up to 67 pound-feet of torque. To put this into perspective, some cars have less torque than that. Riders can choose from four levels of assistance – Eco, Tour, Sport, and Boost – depending on their desired level of pedal assistance. These modes are available at speeds up to 20 mph, after which riders will need to rely solely on their leg power. The bike’s range can vary between 12 to 90 miles, depending on factors such as terrain, rider’s weight, and usage of the electric motor.

Conveniently placed on the handlebar, a screen allows riders to toggle between the different assistance modes and keep track of their battery life, ensuring they have full control over their riding experience.

For those interested in purchasing this Audi e-bike, it is available in three sizes: Small, Medium, and Large. The price for this unique electric mountain bike is $9,795, excluding taxes. Deliveries are expected to begin in the summer of 2024. However, Audi has yet to clarify what it means by “limited-edition model.”

In addition to the e-bike itself, Audi also offers a range of branded accessories that riders can order separately. These include riding gloves, cycling jerseys, water bottles, and bike racks compatible with some of Audi’s models, like the Q7. This allows Audi enthusiasts to further enhance their biking experience with stylish and functional accessories.

Overall, Audi’s venture into the realm of electric mountain bikes is an exciting development in the world of electric mobility. The combination of Audi’s design prowess and Fantic’s drivetrain expertise creates a compelling option for adventure enthusiasts and avid riders alike. With its impressive suspension system, powerful motor, and sleek design, this limited-edition Audi e-bike is sure to attract attention and deliver an exhilarating riding experience.
