Audi’s RS Q6 E-tron: Bold and Powerful Electric Performance Model Revealed

Audi is set to unveil its highly anticipated electric performance model, the RS Q6 E-tron, next year. According to an insider at the company, the RS Q6 E-tron will be significantly different and bolder than its predecessor, the SQ6. The Q6 E-tron lineup has been developed in conjunction with the Porsche Macan Electric, sharing the same platform and key components.

The SQ6 boasts a powerful 483bhp dual-motor powertrain with four-wheel drive. However, the RS Q6 is expected to take things up a notch by utilizing the Macan Turbo’s powertrain, delivering an impressive 621bhp and a blistering 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds. Audi aims to differentiate its model from Porsche’s, with the RS Q6 focusing more on comfort.

In terms of design, the RS Q6 E-tron will feature bold styling cues reminiscent of Audi’s hot RS6 and E-tron GT RS models. This includes large haunches, oversized wheels, and a unique RS interior. While specific pricing and specifications have yet to be announced, it is expected that the RS Q6 E-tron will have an entry price in the six-figure range, following the SQ6 E-tron’s starting price of £93,675.

In addition to the RS Q6 E-tron, Audi has also provided a glimpse of a Sportback variant of its Q6 E-tron. While exact details remain under wraps, it is likely that the Sportback version will share mechanical components with the regular Q6 E-tron, including a choice of four- or rear-wheel drive and a 100kWh battery. The preview images reveal a sleeker, teardrop-like design with a sloping roof that cascades down behind the B-pillar.

Inside, the Sportback variant is expected to feature Audi’s standard 12.6-inch driver cluster and 10.9-inch infotainment screen. Additionally, it may offer an optional 10.9-inch passenger touchscreen, allowing the front passenger to stream videos, make changes to the navigation system, and control the car’s audio system.

Overall, Audi’s upcoming electric models, the RS Q6 E-tron and the Sportback variant of the Q6 E-tron, promise to deliver impressive performance and bold design cues. With Audi’s commitment to electric mobility and its collaboration with Porsche, these models are likely to be highly sought after by enthusiasts and eco-conscious drivers alike.
