“Automobili Pininfarina Unveils Battista Targamerica: A Classic ‘Targa’ Silhouette Coachbuilt Car”

Automobili Pininfarina, the luxury electric vehicle manufacturer, has recently unveiled its first coachbuilt car, the Battista Targamerica. This stunning vehicle is based on the existing Battista coupe, which shares its powertrain with the Rimac Nevera. However, the Targamerica features a classic ‘Targa’ silhouette, with a removable roof panel that can be rolled up for open-air driving or used as an emergency option. The design of the Targamerica was inspired by the iconic Ferrari Testarossa Spider, specifically a one-off version made for former Fiat chairman Gianni Agnelli.

The CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, Paolo Dellachà, explained that he was inspired by a silver Testarossa with a white soft-top and blue stripes at the bottom. This car, owned by Gianni Agnelli, served as the inspiration for the Targamerica’s design, particularly because the client for this one-off vehicle was also a fan of silver. Dellachà emphasized that each Battista produced is essentially bespoke, making it possible for clients to request unique and advanced features.

Inside the Targamerica, one can find luxurious tan leather upholstery, bespoke headrests, and even a cigar humidor located between the seats. Additionally, the vehicle includes several ‘Easter eggs’ that are personalized for the specific client. While it’s unclear if these features are available to all Pininfarina buyers, Dellachà stated that the company is always open to creating unique and advanced elements for their clients.

Performance-wise, the Targamerica is no slouch. It shares the same powertrain as the Battista, allowing it to go from 0 to 62 mph in a mind-boggling 1.86 seconds. It can reach 124 mph in just 4.49 seconds and has a top speed of 222 mph. These impressive numbers are made possible by the Battista’s quad-motor powertrain, which delivers a staggering 1876 bhp.

The Battista Targamerica follows in the footsteps of the B95, a roofless electric hypercar also based on the Battista, which was unveiled last year. These coachbuilt versions of the Battista serve as a testament to Automobili Pininfarina’s commitment to creating unique, personalized vehicles for their discerning clients.

In conclusion, the unveiling of the Battista Targamerica showcases Automobili Pininfarina’s expertise in creating bespoke, luxury electric vehicles. With its classic Targa silhouette, inspired by the iconic Ferrari Testarossa Spider, and its powerful quad-motor powertrain, this one-off vehicle is sure to turn heads. The attention to detail, from the personalized interior features to the exceptional performance capabilities, further solidifies Automobili Pininfarina’s position as a leader in the luxury electric vehicle market.
