Bandai Namco and Look North World Collaborate to Bring Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance to Fortnite

blankBandai Namco Entertainment America and Look North World have partnered to create a unique gaming experience within Fortnite, centered around the upcoming Netflix anime series Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance. This collaboration aims to bring the iconic Gundam universe to life in a new, interactive format that combines the familiar team-based and competitive gameplay of Fortnite with the power of Gundam.

Look North World, founded by Alex Seropian, one of the founding members of Bungie, is known for leveraging new and emerging creator platforms to build games for millions of existing players. For the creation of the Gundam game, Look North World utilized UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite), a developer platform that allows indie developers and user-generated content to be incorporated into Fortnite in a self-serve manner.

The Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance game will be a free activation within Fortnite, available to all 300 million-plus Fortnite players. It will be released shortly after the debut of the anime series on Netflix, which is scheduled for October 17th. The game will be accessible on all platforms that Fortnite is available on, including PC, consoles, and Android phones.

Within the game, players will participate in a Team Deathmatch-style game set in the Fortnite universe. They will have the opportunity to power up their faction’s Mobile Suits by collecting points and assists for their team. Once powered up, a pilot from each team will be able to unleash the destructive power of their team’s Mobile Suit, such as the Gundam EX for the EFSF or the ZAKU II (Unidentified Type) Solari for the Zeon forces. This dynamic gameplay element adds an exciting twist to the traditional Fortnite experience.

The collaboration between Bandai Namco Entertainment America, Look North World, and Fortnite showcases the potential of combining popular franchises with innovative gaming platforms. Karim Farghaly, the senior vice president of corporate development for Bandai Namco Entertainment America, expressed his excitement about the project, stating that Look North World’s ability to create exciting games for millions of fans on creator platforms like Fortnite is limitless.

The use of Unreal Engine 5 in creating the Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance anime and the incorporation of officially licensed assets by Look North World further highlight the power of this collaboration. By bringing the iconic Gundam universe to life within Fortnite, both companies hope to deliver a unique, social, and fun experience to all Fortnite players.

In conclusion, the partnership between Bandai Namco Entertainment America, Look North World, and Fortnite introduces an exciting new gaming experience for fans of the Gundam franchise and Fortnite players alike. With its combination of popular franchises, innovative platforms, and dynamic gameplay, this collaboration has the potential to captivate millions of players worldwide.
