“BMW M2 2024 Model Upgraded with More Power and Performance”

BMW’s M division is set to release an upgraded version of the popular M2 sports coupé in the UK in August 2024. Priced at £63,360, the 2024 model will feature a more powerful version of BMW’s turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six engine, delivering an additional 20bhp and increasing torque by 37lb ft. This upgrade brings the M2’s power and torque levels in line with the manual M3 and M4 models, which are not available in the UK.

The increase in power and torque results in improved performance figures for the M2. The standard M2 Coupé with the eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox can now accelerate from 0-62mph in 4.0 seconds, while the optional six-speed manual model achieves the same feat in 4.2 seconds. Additionally, both M2 models have seen a 0.6 second improvement in their 0-124mph times compared to their predecessors, with the automatic variant achieving it in 12.9 seconds and the manual version in 13.7 seconds. The top speed remains limited to 155mph but can be increased to 177mph with the optional M Driver’s package.

In terms of styling, the exterior of the M2 remains largely unchanged, but BMW has introduced new color options such as Sao Paul Yellow, Fire Red, Portimao Blue, and Skyscraper Grey. The car also features 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, with a double-spoke design and a black finish. A silver finish is available as an optional extra. Inside, the M2 Coupé receives a new flat-bottomed steering wheel with an optional Alcantara rim, as well as an updated digital operating system with the latest-generation iDrive system.

These updates are part of a wider refresh for the 2 Series, on which the M2 is based. The standard 2 Series has also received minor updates in terms of design and interior technology. Notably, the entire 2 Series range, including the M2, is now exclusively powered by petrol engines, following the trend set by the 1 Series, 3 Series, 4 Series, and 5 Series in phasing out diesel options.

Production of the M2 will continue alongside the standard 2 Series Coupé models at BMW’s factory in San Luis, Mexico. The UK remains a key market for this price-leading M car, with strong demand from the US, Germany, and China as well. Pricing for the upgraded M2 model has yet to be confirmed.

For those interested in purchasing a used BMW M2, there are currently several options available for sale, ranging in mileage and specifications. These cars offer a chance to own a high-performance vehicle at a potentially more affordable price point.

Overall, BMW’s enhancements to the M2 demonstrate their commitment to delivering powerful and thrilling driving experiences. With increased power and performance, updated styling options, and improved technology, the upgraded M2 is sure to attract enthusiasts looking for an exhilarating sports coupé.
