BMW Unveils the 2025 M4 CS: A Track-Ready Performance Upgrade

BMW Expands its Track-Prepped Lineup with the Updated M4 CS

BMW is not one to rest on its laurels when it comes to updating its performance lineup. After recently releasing general updates to its 2025 4 Series and M4 models, the automaker is now introducing the highly anticipated M4 CS. Positioned between the standard Competition and the ultra-lightweight CSL, the M4 CS is designed to offer a unique blend of performance and exclusivity.

As the name suggests, CS stands for Competition Sport, and this variant does not disappoint in terms of power. Its 3.0-liter S58 inline-six engine delivers an impressive 543 horsepower, which is a 20 horsepower increase over the M4 Competition. The torque output remains the same, with 479 pound-feet on tap. Paired with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, the M4 CS sprints from 0 to 60 mph in a thrilling 3.2 seconds. It also boasts a top speed of 188 mph, making it a true powerhouse on the road.

To further enhance its performance capabilities, the M4 CS comes equipped with a range of unique features. The lightweight “v-spoke” wheels contribute to its agile handling, while the retuned suspension offers exceptional stability and precision. Carbon ceramic brakes and R-compound tires are available as upgrades, allowing enthusiasts to tailor their M4 CS to their specific preferences.

Weight reduction is a key focus for BMW, and the M4 CS showcases the brand’s commitment to lightweighting. The use of carbon fiber in various components such as the roof, hood, front splitter, mirror caps, rear diffuser, and spoiler helps keep weight in check. The exhaust system also utilizes a titanium silencer, shedding an additional eight pounds. In total, the M4 CS weighs approximately 45 pounds less than the standard Competition model. While not as extreme as the CSL, this weight reduction contributes to improved performance and agility.

In terms of aesthetics, the M4 CS features a sporty and aggressive design that sets it apart from the rest of the M4 lineup. The carbon fiber elements, along with its aerodynamic enhancements, give the M4 CS a distinctive and purposeful appearance. Inside the cabin, carbon fiber is again utilized for the seats, center console, shift paddles, and various trim pieces, creating a race-inspired ambiance.

Excitement for the M4 CS continues to build as BMW plans to unveil it at two prestigious racing events: the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Laguna Seca in California and the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps World Endurance Car race in Belgium. This double unveiling demonstrates BMW’s commitment to showcasing the M4 CS in both American and European markets.

Customers eagerly anticipating the arrival of the M4 CS will be pleased to know that orders can be placed starting at the end of May. With its irresistible combination of power, performance, and exclusivity, the M4 CS is set to make a strong impression on automotive enthusiasts around the world.
