The James Bond movie “Goldfinger” holds a special place in the hearts of most fans, as it introduced the world to what is now considered “the world’s most famous car” – the Aston Martin DB5. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of “Goldfinger” and Aston Martin’s long-standing partnership with the 007 franchise, the luxury brand has created a unique pop-up experience called the “House of Q.” Located in London’s historic Burlington Arcade, this hidden gem offers visitors an opportunity to step into the world of Q, the mastermind behind the top-secret technology and inventions featured in the James Bond films.

Accessing the secret spot is no ordinary feat. Visitors must enter through a door cleverly disguised as a magazine newsstand at House 12-13 in the elegant arcade. Once inside, they are greeted by a speakeasy bar serving Champagne Bollinger, adorned with technical drawings and original parts from the DB5. The bar also showcases sketches and diagrams from both Aston Martin and EON Productions archives, giving patrons an exclusive glimpse into the creation process. As a special treat for fans, a copy of the “Goldfinger” film script is also on display, adding to the allure of this extraordinary experience.

The Aston Martin DB5, named after David Brown, the owner of Aston Martin in the 1940s and ’50s, made its debut only a few months before “Goldfinger” hit screens. It was essentially a mid-cycle refresh of its predecessor, the DB4, but with notable improvements. Equipped with a powerful 4.0-liter engine and capable of reaching top speeds of over 150 mph, the DB5 was an engineering marvel. Its elegant design was crafted by Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, as evidenced by the Superleggera badges on the car.
