Chevrolet Equinox EV: More Power and Updated Trims for 2025

Chevrolet has announced updates for the Chevrolet Equinox EV for its second model year. One of the most notable updates is a power increase for both motor configurations. The dual-motor models now have 300 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque, while the single-motor variants have 220 horsepower and 243 lb-ft. This power bump is impressive for a model year update that doesn’t include a major overhaul. Additionally, the base model price remains the same, which is great news for potential buyers.

In addition to the power increase, Chevy has made some changes to the trim names and feature packaging for the 2025 Equinox EV. Some trims have been eliminated and replaced by packages, but the pricing and hierarchy remain largely unchanged. For example, the 2LT is now the LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package, and Convenience I Package. The 3LT has been replaced by the LT with Comfort, Active Safety 2 Package, and Convenience II Package. The 2RS is now simply the RS, and the 3RS is now the RS with Convenience II Package.

Comparing the 2025 Equinox EV lineup to the 2024 lineup, there have been some price increases. The new 3LT equivalent increased in price by $1,100, and the 3RS increased by $1,095. However, both trims now come with additional standard equipment, including a heads-up display (HUD) and a rearview camera mirror.

The base LT will be joined by an LT with Comfort and Active Safety 2 Package option, which will be priced at $36,995 when it launches later this year. It’s important to note that all prices include destination fees but do not include the federal EV tax credit. The Equinox EV is eligible for the full $7,500 tax credit, which makes it an attractive option for buyers looking to save on their purchase. At the moment, the standard ICE model is the only cheaper option, starting at just under $30,000.

Overall, the updates to the Chevrolet Equinox EV for its second model year are modest but impactful. The power increase and additional standard equipment make the EV even more enticing, while the pricing remains competitive. With the federal tax credit, buyers can enjoy even greater savings. If you’re in the market for an electric SUV, the Equinox EV is definitely worth considering.
