Fellten and Rally Prep Partner to Fit Classic Cars with EV Conversion Kits
Bristol-based electrification specialist Fellten has announced a partnership with Cornish firm Rally Prep to offer electric vehicle (EV) conversion kits for classic Land Rovers, Minis, and Porsches. The conversion kits are designed for specific models, including the 964 and G-series Porsche 911s, 1984-1996 Minis, and Land Rover’s Series 2A, Series 3, and Defender.
One of Fellten’s notable partnerships is with BMW, as the official partner for classic Mini conversions. Their kit includes a 19kWh battery and a 97bhp motor that maintains the original weight distribution of the car. This combination provides a range of 110 miles and an impressive 0-62mph time of 8.0 seconds. The battery can be recharged at rates up to 6.6kW.
For Land Rover conversions, Fellten offers various configurations, allowing customers to choose between a 55kWh or 110kWh battery, which offer ranges of 100 miles or 200 miles, respectively. The powertrains are available in three options: 188bhp, 335bhp, or 483bhp dual-motor setups. The most powerful version features two 241.5bhp Zonic motors and can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 6.0 seconds. Importantly, it can also be rapidly charged in less than an hour.
Fellten’s Porsche 911 conversion stands out as the quickest of its kind, powered by a 496bhp Tesla motor that propels the sports car from 0 to 60mph in a claimed time of 4.5 seconds. The conversion kit includes a Quaife limited-slip differential and a 63kWh battery pack that offers an official range of 200 miles. Similar to the Land Rover conversion, it can be rapidly charged to full capacity in under an hour.
The partnership with Rally Prep allows Fellten to not only provide EV conversions but also offer full restorations of these classic cars. This means that enthusiasts can have their cherished vehicles restored to their former glory while also benefiting from the advantages of electric power.
