Embark Studios Unveils Season 3 of The Finals: New Competitive Mode, Weapons, and Kyoto Valley Arena

Embark Studios recently announced the highly anticipated Season 3 of The Finals, the popular team-based multiplayer shooter. Set to launch on June 13, this new season will transport players to the stunning Kyoto Valley in Japan for an epic showdown. With versions available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S, and GeForce Now, gamers across platforms will have the opportunity to dive into this immersive experience.

One of the most exciting additions in Season 3 is the introduction of the Terminal Attack game mode. This mode emphasizes tactical gameplay and competitiveness, challenging players to work together as a team. In Terminal Attack, attackers must deliver a Decryption Key to one of two terminals while defenders do everything in their power to prevent the transfer from completing. This 5v5 attack-and-defend mode requires careful planning, strategic thinking, and collaboration. With no healing, no revives, and only one life per round, every decision becomes crucial.

The new Kyoto 1568 arena serves as the backdrop for this intense battle. Nestled against a steep mountainside in the lush Kyoto Valley, players will find themselves immersed in a network of interwoven 16th-century temples, gardens, and dense bamboo forests. This unique setting adds a layer of depth and beauty to the game, contrasting with the modern urban arenas that The Finals is known for. The arena features intense terrain height variation and interconnected buildings, providing players with plenty of hidden traversal options. Additionally, players can shoot through traditional Japanese Shoji paper walls, adding a new level of destruction to the gameplay.

Season 3 also brings a range of new weapons and gear for players to explore. The Recurve Bow is a high-skill weapon for Lights that shoots arrows in a curved arc. Its range and damage increase the further back the bowstring is drawn. The Thermal Bore is a tactical breaching gadget for Lights that allows players to breach walls and obstacles from a distance. It pairs perfectly with a long-range weapon and opens up new pathways and sightlines. Mediums receive the Dual Katanas, a fast melee weapon with a wide reach and the ability to deflect bullets. Heavies, on the other hand, gain the Spear, a versatile melee weapon with long-range stab attacks. The Spear can also be spun up to cover a wider area. To complement the Spear, Heavies also receive the Winch Claw specialization, which allows players to pull objects or enemies towards them, briefly stunning them.

In addition to these exciting gameplay additions, Season 3 introduces the World Tour events series. This series challenges players to participate in events and tournaments that feature unique rules, loadouts, locations, and rewards. As players accumulate victories in the World Tour events, they will climb the Leaderboard and rank up their World Tour Badge through bronze, silver, or gold tiers. Depending on their position on the podium at the end of the season, players will also earn Multibucks, further adding to the excitement and competitiveness of the game.

Overall, Season 3 of The Finals promises an immersive and thrilling gaming experience for players across platforms. The introduction of the Terminal Attack game mode, the stunning Kyoto 1568 arena, and the range of new weapons and gear all contribute to an elevated level of tactical gameplay. With the addition of the World Tour events series, players will have even more opportunities to compete and showcase their skills. So gear up, strategize, and get ready for an epic showdown in Season 3 of The Finals!
