“Everrati’s Electrified Restomods: A Closer Look at the Eclectic Buyers and Impressive Growth”

Everrati, an Oxfordshire-based electric car specialist, has seen impressive growth in recent years. The company has attracted a diverse range of customers, from petrolheads to environmentally conscious parents. Many buyers are repeat customers, with some already on their second or third Everrati vehicle.

One of the standout models in Everrati’s range is the 1960s Mercedes-Benz SL, known as the ‘Pagoda’. This classic car has been given the Everrati treatment, with its traditional engine and gearbox replaced by an electric motor and a choice of two batteries. The result is a car that retains its charm and driving experience while offering improved performance and zero emissions.

The conversion process involves removing the original engine and replacing it with an electric motor. Customers can choose between a 54kWh or 68kWh battery, offering a range of 160 or 200 miles respectively. The new powertrain delivers approximately twice the power of the original engine, with 300bhp and 221lb ft of torque. This allows for a 0-62mph time of less than 7.0 seconds with the larger battery.

To handle the additional weight of the electric powertrain, Everrati has equipped the Pagoda with KW suspension and a limited-slip differential. The car also features regenerative braking and new hydraulic power steering. These updates modernize the driving experience without compromising the car’s original charm. Customers can further customize their vehicle’s driving dynamics through various drive modes.

Inside, the Everrati Pagoda offers standard air conditioning and premium leather upholstery from Bridge of Weir. These features, combined with the electric powertrain, justify the starting price of £330,000 before taxes. However, this cost does not include the price of the donor car, which customers must provide.

During a test drive on a private estate, it becomes evident that Everrati has struck a balance between performance and maintaining the character of the original car. The acceleration is smooth and brisk, without being excessive. The steering is relaxed, emphasizing a comfortable cruising experience rather than sharp handling.

Founder and CEO Justin Lunny explains that Everrati’s focus is on the future rather than the past. Customers are not interested in keeping their car’s original engine or preserving its history. Instead, they want to see their classic car transformed into a modern, zero-emissions vehicle. Everrati’s work is designed to be completely reversible, ensuring the structure of the vehicle remains intact.

In conclusion, Everrati has carved out a niche in the market by offering electrified restomods that retain the charm and character of classic cars while providing improved performance and environmental benefits. The company’s growth and diverse customer base are a testament to the appeal of its electric conversions. With more models and collaborations on the horizon, Everrati is set to continue making waves in the automotive industry.
