Evo 2024: The Evolution Championship Series Gears Up for Its Largest Ever Event

blankEvo, the Evolution Championship Series, is preparing for its largest event ever, with over 60,000 fans expected to attend this weekend at the Las Vegas Convention Center. As the largest and longest-running fighting game tournament, Evo has been bringing the fighting game community together since 2002. This year, over 10,000 players from 63 countries have registered to compete.

In 2021, Sony purchased Evo and has helped bring new sponsorships and convention-style programming to the tournament. This partnership has allowed Evo to grow and attract high-profile sponsorships and brand activations. PlayStation itself is providing all tournament consoles and wireless headsets, and Chipotle is returning as the presenting partner for the second year in a row. Other brand partners include AT&T, Crunchyroll, Razer, Red Bull, and Zenni.

Evo is expanding its offerings this year by keeping its show floor open for all three days of the tournament. This will give fans more time to explore Evo’s largest arcade ever, Artist Alley, Art Gallery, and Beyond the Arcade Stick Museum. The tournament is also taking inspiration from conventions by expanding its slate of panelists, content creators, cosplayers, and exhibitions. The Evo Cosplay Competition is returning with a grand prize of a trip to a future Evo event.

Tickets are still available for Evo, which takes place this weekend from July 19 to July 21. This is a great opportunity for gamers to engage with the GamesBeat content they love by playing customized games created in partnership with Lil Snack. By focusing on the spirit of competition and the community that supports fighting games, Evo continues to grow and evolve, providing an exciting experience for players and fans alike.
