Fastn Raises $2.6M Seed Funding to Revolutionize Composable Application Development

Building unified enterprise-grade API

In the age of digital transformation, the concept of composability has gained significant traction. Enterprises are increasingly adopting modular components to build complex systems connected to their tech stacks. However, the process of bringing these systems to life can be challenging due to data silos and fragmented architectures.

Texas-based startup Fastn, founded by former Amazon engineering leader Khalid Muaydh, aims to address these challenges. The company recently announced $2.6 million in seed funding to develop an AI-driven platform for building highly performant composable applications.

Fastn has developed a no-code/low-code platform that leverages AI agents, automation, and a drag-and-drop interface to simplify the creation, integration, and orchestration of modular components required in app development. This includes APIs that provide real-time access to business-critical data scattered across silos.

Muaydh explained, “Our unique approach focuses on composability, making it easy to integrate diverse systems and data sources. This not only accelerates development and reduces costs, but also enhances agility, reliability, and scalability for enterprise solutions.”

Building unified enterprise-grade API

Muaydh started Fastn in 2023 after facing several bottlenecks while building complex systems for his previous employers. Traditional architectures required developers to manually manage multiple custom APIs and their integrations across different data environments. This process was time-consuming and prone to errors.

Fastn eliminates this problem by allowing users to build a unified enterprise-grade API using natural language prompts. Through the platform’s AI agent, users can describe their app’s functionality and receive a functional API in seconds. The AI agent for connectors also enables efficient custom connection building for systems or applications not pre-integrated with Fastn.

Once the API is ready, users can connect it to their data sources, such as databases or spreadsheets, to retrieve information almost instantly. Fastn boasts sub-millisecond data delivery, which is crucial for applications like e-commerce product pages. Additionally, users can shape the app’s logic using pre-built or custom-built components to handle tasks like data transformation, calculations, or decision-making. The platform also provides real-time performance monitoring, offering visibility into crucial metrics like latency and data flows.

Adoption by leading enterprises

Fastn’s approach to building composable applications has already gained attention, despite being in its early stages and having raised $2.6 million. Since listing on Product Hunt in July 2024, the company has attracted over 450 users who are testing the platform in their workplaces. Fastn’s first official enterprise customer is HP, which uses the platform to seamlessly integrate its applications with customers’ environments.

Muaydh explained, “For instance, when HP signs and onboards a customer using a different support system, Fastn’s platform enables it to automatically map and orchestrate the data between HP’s systems and the customer’s support system, regardless of the format or environment. This real-time connection breaks down data silos and eliminates the need for extensive custom development, allowing HP to focus on delivering value to their customers in minutes, not months.”

Fastn also has a dozen mid-size and enterprise customers in its pipeline for this year. However, as the integration and orchestration market grows, the company will need to differentiate itself from established players like Mulesoft and Snaplogic, which have significant funding and experience in the category.

According to Mordor Intelligence, the system integration market is projected to reach $778.92 billion by 2029, with a growth rate of nearly 10%. This indicates a growing demand for solutions like Fastn that simplify and enhance the integration process.
