“Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale: A Tribute to the XX Legacy with Enhanced Performance”

Ferrari’s XX series cars have always been exclusive track-only models reserved for the brand’s wealthiest and most privileged customers. However, in recent years, Ferrari has shifted its focus to the production of more visually striking and technologically advanced “Icona” models. So why has Ferrari decided to revive the XX lineage with the SF90 XX Stradale? According to Ferrari, this car is more of a tribute to the idea of an XX car rather than a fully-fledged member of the track-only model set. Nevertheless, the SF90 XX still possesses incredible track potential.

The SF90 XX Stradale is not a typical XX model. While it features an XX badge and comes with special design features and specification upgrades, owning one does not grant access to Ferrari’s ultra-exclusive XX track days. In fact, the number of customers who will purchase the SF90 XX Stradale far exceeds the existing XX club members by about fifteen to one. This suggests that Ferrari’s XX experiment may be coming to a close.

Despite not being a fully-fledged XX model, the SF90 XX Stradale still offers exceptional performance. It boasts an enhanced hybrid powertrain with an extra thirty horsepower compared to the standard SF90 Stradale. The car’s aerodynamics have also been improved, with the addition of a fixed wing, new diffusers, and larger vortex generators. These enhancements result in a staggering 540kg of downforce at 155mph.

The interior of the SF90 XX Stradale remains largely unchanged from the standard model, with the addition of carbon fiber bucket seats and a carbon fiber-clad dashboard and center console. The car loses its minimal storage space in the front due to modifications made to accommodate the new radiator design.

In terms of performance, the SF90 XX Stradale is outrageously fast. Its hybrid powertrain delivers seamless and brutal acceleration, thanks to instant electric boost. However, some critics argue that the car’s flat-plane turbo V8 engine lacks the soulful sound of other supercar engines.

When it comes to handling, the SF90 XX Stradale offers balance and adjustability, but it requires a specific driving style to fully unlock its potential. Ferrari’s engineers recommend braking later and feathering the pedal through turns, relying on the car’s anti-lock braking system and electric front axle for stability. While this approach can be rewarding, the car can become unruly and difficult to handle in certain circumstances.

Overall, the SF90 XX Stradale is a testament to Ferrari’s ongoing pursuit of electrification and performance. However, it falls short in terms of handling purity compared to other mid-engined Ferraris. Despite its flaws, the SF90 XX Stradale still appeals to those who seek a better, faster version of the SF90 Stradale.
