Glue AI: The Solution to Slack Channel Fatigue

Glue AI, an employee chat app created by David Sacks and Evan Owen, aims to address the issue of “Slack channel fatigue.” The app, which recently emerged from stealth, organizes communication into topic-based threads and utilizes GenAI. While Glue’s interface is similar to that of Slack, it provides a personalized experience for each user. Threads can be created for specific tasks and archived once completed. Sacks believes that Slack and its main competitor, Microsoft Teams, cannot easily replicate Glue’s thread-based approach without re-architecting their entire products. Glue also incorporates AI into its platform, allowing it to act as a virtual employee that can join conversations and provide assistance. The AI can suggest topic names, summarize conversations, and gather information about employees. While Slack and Microsoft Teams also have integrated AI features, Glue differentiates itself by keeping AI and human chats in one place. Craft Ventures has been using Glue internally and plans to offer it to other companies. After a trial period, Glue will charge $7 per employee per month, slightly less than Slack’s pricing. Sacks hinted at the possibility of external funding in the future.
