Google Launches Gemini AI Mobile App in India with Support for Nine Indian Languages

Google has officially launched its dedicated AI mobile app, Gemini, in India. This comes after its initial release in the United States four months ago. The Gemini app in India is powered by Google’s AI Gemini 1.5 Pro and offers support for nine Indian languages, including Hindi.

With the Gemini mobile app, users in India can now type or speak in any of the supported languages to receive AI assistance. This feature aims to make it easier for Indian users to interact with the AI technology and access the information they need.

One of the standout features of the Gemini app is the option to access the paid Gemini Advanced experience. This advanced version provides a 1 million token context window, allowing users to process and understand a wide range of information. Whether it’s analyzing complex data or reviewing lengthy documents, Gemini Advanced aims to provide a seamless user experience.

Moreover, Gemini Advanced also supports the nine Indian languages available on the Gemini mobile app. This ensures that users can fully utilize the AI assistant in their preferred language, further enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Android users can download the Gemini app directly from the Play Store. Additionally, Gemini AI can be enabled through Google Assistant. In the coming weeks, iPhone users in India will also have access to Gemini through the Google app, expanding its reach to a wider audience.

During the I/O developer conference, Google showcased its plans to integrate Gemini AI into various apps and the Android operating system. Some of these expansions will be rolled out over the next few months. Notably, Google has already started integrating Gemini into Google Messages in English.

Gemini’s journey began in the United States earlier this year and quickly expanded to European markets such as Germany, France, Italy, Sweden, and the U.K. In April, support for additional languages like Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese was added to cater to even more users worldwide.

In conclusion, Google’s launch of the Gemini mobile app in India signifies its commitment to providing AI assistance to a diverse range of users. By supporting multiple Indian languages and offering advanced features, Gemini aims to make AI technology more accessible and useful to Indian users. As Google continues to expand Gemini’s capabilities and integration, it is poised to become an increasingly valuable tool for users in India and beyond.
