Ineos Launches Arcane Works: Hand-Finished Custom Grenadier Station Wagons

Ineos, the automaker, is embracing exclusivity and capitalizing on consumer demand by launching a “bespoke” division called Arcane Works. This department will offer unique, hand-finished versions of the Grenadier station wagon. While the extent of customization options has not been revealed, it is clear that Arcane Works will cater to the desires of consumers and the company itself.

The first approach of Arcane Works is similar to a personalization studio. Buyers will have the opportunity to choose “bespoke design elements” from a wide range of finishings and color match technologies. They will also work with skilled craftsmen from various disciplines to transform a production vehicle into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.

The second approach of Arcane Works involves small runs of custom Grenadiers designed by Ineos Automotive’s own designers. These special editions will feature new exclusive features and serve as a test bed for new technologies and systems for future INEOS vehicles. This includes uprated engine modifications, new chassis systems, and innovative materials and features. Moreover, each limited edition run will receive a unique “tailored” name.

This move by Ineos is reminiscent of Land Rover’s Classic division, which continues to produce limited-run versions of the original Defender. The popularity of fully custom Defender restomods priced at $300,000 demonstrates the demand for exclusive vehicles in this market segment. The Fair Trade cafes where these vehicles often congregate are incomplete without the luxurious cross-stitched Mocha leather interiors and meticulously applied color-matched Galapagos Dusk paint.

The first limited edition from Arcane Works will debut at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed next month. It is expected to surpass Ineos’ previous special edition, the Grenadier 1924, which celebrated Bestaff’s 100th anniversary. The Grenadier 1924 featured contrasting Magic Mushroom and Inky Black paints, two-tone diamond-cut wheels, and de-chromed matte accents. With the launch of Arcane Works, Ineos is poised to elevate its offerings to a new level of exclusivity and customization.
