Introducing the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S: Detailed Specs, Pricing, and More

The highly anticipated 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S has officially been unveiled, providing car enthusiasts with detailed specifications and features to get excited about. One of the standout features of the Wagoneer S is its impressive power output, boasting 600 horsepower and 617 pound-feet of torque from a pair of 250-kW motors. With this power, the Wagoneer S can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, making it the quickest Jeep ever produced. However, it’s worth noting that its top speed is limited to 124 mph.

Jeep has equipped the Wagoneer S with a 400-volt 100.5-kWh battery, providing an anticipated range of over 300 miles on a full charge. Additionally, the vehicle boasts an impressive combined efficiency of 99 mpg-e. DC fast charging is standard on the Wagoneer S, with a 20% to 80% charge time of just 23 minutes. Initially, the vehicle will utilize the CCS connector, but NACS compatibility will be added in the coming years.

The impressive performance and efficiency of the Wagoneer S can be attributed, in part, to its aerodynamic design. The vehicle boasts a coefficient of drag of just 0.294, the lowest of any Jeep thus far. This is achieved through various design elements such as the sloped rear roof, R-wing, flush-fitting door handles, and smooth undertrays. Chief Design Officer Ralph Gilles even hinted that there is potential for even better aerodynamic efficiency in future models.

Despite its impressive performance, the Wagoneer S is built on the STLA-Large platform, which is smaller than a Grand Cherokee in every dimension. It measures 1.1 inches shorter in length, 2.7 inches narrower in width, and 6 inches lower in height. The ground clearance is also lower, with the Wagoneer S offering 6.4 inches compared to the Grand Cherokee’s 8.4 inches. The vehicle features MacPherson strut front suspension and an integral link independent rear suspension. It has a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution, which contributes to its balanced handling.

In terms of cargo capacity, the Wagoneer S offers 30.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, which expands to 61 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down. Additionally, there is a 3-cubic-foot frunk for additional storage. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 1,033 pounds and can tow up to 3,400 pounds.

For now, the Wagoneer S is only available in one trim level, known as the Launch Edition. This fully loaded trim includes a range of luxurious features such as 20-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, faux leather upholstery, microfiber suede roof lining, wireless device charging, automatic parking, a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system, a 10-inch head-up display (HUD), a 12.3-inch instrument screen, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 10.25-inch passenger screen.

In terms of driver assist features, the Wagoneer S provides adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping and stop-and-go capabilities, blind-spot monitoring, and sensors and cameras for parking assistance. There are currently only two options available: the Radar Red interior and the Trailer Tow Group, which includes trailer wiring, a hitch, and an updated blind-spot warning system for towing.

The starting price for the Wagoneer S Launch Edition is $71,995, including the destination charge. Reservations for the vehicle are set to open soon, with deliveries expected to begin in the fall. With its impressive performance, luxury features, and efficient electric drivetrain, the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is set to become a formidable competitor in the electric SUV market.
