Introducing the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport: Upgraded Tech, New Sasquatch Trim, and Enhanced Capabilities

The 2025 Ford Bronco Sport is receiving its first significant update, featuring a range of upgraded technology and a new Sasquatch trim. While most trims will appear similar to the previous model, there are some subtle design tweaks, such as revised front and rear fascias and new grille designs. However, it is the new Sasquatch model, available on Badlands and Outer Banks trims, that truly stands out visually.

The Sasquatch model comes equipped with a standard big brush guard, as well as unique modular front and rear bumpers complete with steel bash plates and additional underbody skid plates for enhanced protection. The front bumper now features Bronco bolts inspired by the larger Bronco, allowing for the attachment of various accessories like light bars or flags. Furthermore, there are additional recovery points and front fender-mounted tie-downs rated for 150 pounds, ideal for roof accessory needs. And that’s not all—the Sasquatch also boasts driving capability upgrades, including a twin-clutch rear drive unit with improved thermal capacity, new Bilstein rear shocks with position-sensitive damping and piggyback reservoirs, updated springs that increase ride height and suspension travel, and aggressive 29-inch Goodyear Territory all-terrain tires.

In addition to the Sasquatch model, there are other capability upgrades available for the 2025 Bronco Sport. These include a new Rally G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) mode, a Trail One-Pedal Drive that makes off-roading more accessible for beginners by simulating the behavior of an electric vehicle’s regenerative brakes, and an enhanced camera suite with front tire guidelines projected along the path. These updates contribute to an overall improved off-road performance.

Regarding powertrains, both the 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder and 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines remain, but they have undergone slight downgrades in total output due to emissions regulations. Although specific figures have yet to be released, Ford suggests that the decrease in horsepower will be minimal. The eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive system remain standard across all trims.

Inside the updated Bronco Sport, a completely new dash design awaits, featuring a massive 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Sync 4. Physical buttons have been replaced with touchscreen controls, although wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available. Additionally, a large 12.3-inch all-digital cluster display offers various views and colors depending on the selected drive mode. The tray under the previous screen has been removed, but a “Bring Your Own Device” tray has been added on top of the dashboard, similar to the setup found in the larger Bronco. Other new features include auxiliary switches in the headliner, pre-wired for accessories, and additional grab handles on the center console for improved passenger stability during off-road excursions.

In terms of safety features, Ford CoPilot360 Assist+ now comes standard on every trim, offering a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies. Optional features, such as a 360-degree camera, rear automatic braking, and traffic sign recognition, are part of a 2.0 package.

The updated Bronco Sport will go on sale in November of this year, with the exception of the new Sasquatch models, which are expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2025. While pricing details have yet to be revealed, Ford has hinted that the base model will have a sub-$30,000 MSRP. It is important to note that this price does not include the destination charge, which will be announced at a later date. Overall, the 2025 Bronco Sport’s combination of enhanced capabilities, updated technology, and improved design make it an appealing option for those seeking adventure both on and off the road.
