Introducing the 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS: More Power, Luxury, and Performance

The 2025 model year launches of the Porsche Cayenne will begin with the highly anticipated GTS trim. This performance-focused option has always aimed to strike the perfect balance between handling and luxury. For the new model year, it is bringing more power and some Cayenne Turbo technology along with it.

Under the hood, the Cayenne GTS is equipped with a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 493 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. This is a significant increase compared to the previous model, with 40 more horsepower and 30 more pound-feet of torque. It surpasses the Cayenne S, which also uses the same engine, by 29 horsepower.

Power is delivered to all four wheels through an eight-speed transmission, with shorter shift times in Sport mode. To enhance the handling capabilities of the GTS, Porsche engineers have borrowed some technology from the Turbo GT Coupe. The front-axle pivot bearings from the Turbo GT Coupe increase the negative camber of the front wheels slightly, improving turn-in response. The water-cooling circuit from the Turbo GT Coupe is also used to maintain optimal temperatures during intense driving sessions.

The GTS trim comes with Porsche’s Sport Design Package as standard, featuring gloss black accents on the greenhouse trim, rockers, and fender garnish. The exhaust tips have been updated to a dark bronze finish, and GTS Coupe customers have the option to choose lightweight packages that include center-exit bronze tips, reducing the SUV’s curb weight by up to 55 pounds. Tinted headlights and taillights, along with 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels with red brake calipers, complete the exterior look.

Inside the cabin, the GTS offers a range of luxurious features, including Porsche’s latest Cayenne updates. Exclusive to the GTS trim are suede-adjacent Race Tex upholstery paired with leather, featuring red stitching. The default interior color is black, but customers can choose from Slate Gray or Carmine Red at a later stage. The sports seats have also been enhanced with additional bolstering for added support during spirited driving.

With these updates and improvements, it’s no surprise that the Cayenne GTS comes with a higher price tag. The standard Cayenne GTS starts at $126,985, an increase of around $12,000 compared to the previous model. The GTS Coupe is priced slightly higher at $131,495, representing a rise of approximately $14,000. Orders are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin toward the end of the year.

The new Cayenne GTS offers enthusiasts a compelling option in the performance SUV segment. With increased power, enhanced handling capabilities, and a range of luxurious features, it delivers on Porsche’s promise of a driver-centric experience. The updates and improvements make it an even more attractive choice for those seeking a high-performance SUV that combines performance and luxury in one package.
