“Introducing the AI-Powered Features of Google’s New Pixel 9 Lineup”

The Google Pixel 9 lineup, unveiled at the Made by Google event, comes with several noteworthy AI features. These features include Gemini Live, an AI chatbot with voice mode, an upgraded AI-powered Weather app, the “Made You Look” feature for parents, the “Add Me” feature for group photos, and AI enhancements for the Pixel Watch 3.

Gemini Live is Google’s response to ChatGPT Voice Mode. It allows users to have a fluid conversation with the chatbot using audio messages. Gemini Live is contextual, remembering previous conversations, and is supported by all Pixel 9 devices. However, access to Gemini Live requires a Gemini advanced subscription.

The Pixel 9 family also introduced an upgraded Weather app with AI features. The app provides a summary of the day’s weather outlook at the top of the screen, making it convenient for those rushing out the door. While it may not solve a major problem, it adds a nice touch to the user experience.

For parents, the “Made You Look” feature is designed to capture the attention of inattentive kids. When taking a picture with the phone unfolded, cutesy animations are displayed on the external screen to engage the subject. The AI feature recognizes when the subject is smiling and captures the picture. This feature is only available on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

The “Add Me” feature allows users to merge solo shots into group photos seamlessly. The AI algorithm adjusts the scale and lighting of each person to make the merged image look like a genuine group photo. This feature is available on all Pixel 9 devices.

In terms of wearables, the Pixel Watch 3 incorporates AI features focused on health and fitness. Users with a Fitbit Premium subscription can receive personalized running recommendations and track their cardio load using Google AI data tracking from past runs. The Fitbit Morning brief provides a summary of key health and fitness information. Additionally, Google AI can handle calls during workouts, allowing users to focus on their exercises.

While some of these AI features require subscriptions, such as Gemini advanced and Fitbit Premium, they add value and enhance the user experience. Google continues to innovate and integrate AI capabilities into its devices, offering practical and convenient solutions.
