By earning non-fungible token (NFT) Stamps and Points, fans can unlock rewards such as access to VIP lounges, unreleased music, and even a mystery merch box. The grand prize for one lucky fan who completes all quests and earns enough XP is the Coachella Key, a rare NFT that comes with two 2025 festival guest passes.

Coachella Quests harnesses Web3 technology to blend the physical and digital aspects of the festival experience, increasing engagement and driving long-term loyalty. The journey begins with the Coachella Canvas, a new dimension of creativity that allows fans to engage with the festival through art, games, and immersive experiences made possible by creative technology. Fans can create their unique passport and chronicle their experiences across the Coachella Canvas through a Canvas Card.

As fans complete quests, they earn digital Stamps (NFTs) and Points (XP) that can unlock access to exclusive prizes and experiences. According to Sam Schoonover, innovation lead for Coachella, tokens are a unique way to gain consumer insights while protecting their identity. The partnership with Avalanche allows Coachella to experiment with new loyalty use cases on a high throughput and cost-effective blockchain. Paul Chodirker, director of enterprise business development for Ava Labs, expressed excitement about using tokens to enhance live events and create sustainable relationships between music fans, festivals, and artists.

In addition to the main quests, players can also participate in side quests that offer additional rewards. These quests feature content and experiences from partners, artists, and Coachella community programs. Fans can catalog their memories and grow their Stamp collection over the years while managing their interactions and assets on Avalanche.

To bridge the gap between the virtual and physical worlds, Coachella will host an on-site Avalanche activation where attendees can redeem Stamps, explore art installations, learn about the game, and connect with fellow players. This activation aims to bring Coachella’s Web3 offerings to life and provide a holistic experience for festival-goers.
