Introducing the New Mini Aceman: A Fun and Affordable Electric Crossover

Mini has unveiled its latest offering, the Mini Aceman, an all-electric crossover that fills the gap left by the discontinued Clubman. Although not confirmed for U.S. sales, the Aceman made its global debut at the Beijing Auto Show. This EV will be available in two versions: the Aceman E and the Aceman SE. The base E model boasts a single electric motor with 184 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque, hitting 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds. It comes with a 42.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack, providing a range of 192 miles on the WLTP cycle. On the other hand, the SE model features a more powerful electric motor with 218 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque, achieving a 0-62 mph time of 7.1 seconds. It is equipped with a larger 54.2 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 252 miles on the WLTP cycle.

In terms of size, the Aceman is about 14 inches shorter and three inches narrower than the Mini Countryman. As a result, it promises to be a more enjoyable and affordable EV to drive. While specific details about its underpinnings are still scarce, Mini assures that the suspension, steering, powertrain, and braking systems are all designed to prioritize fun driving. The Aceman’s design draws inspiration from the Aceman Concept introduced in 2022, featuring customizable light patterns, flat surfacing, and a minimalist aesthetic seen in other Mini models. Wheel options ranging from 17 to 19 inches will be available, along with four different trims, including a sporty JCW version that focuses on appearance enhancements rather than performance.

Inside the Aceman, the interior design follows Mini’s latest design language. The central OLED infotainment touchscreen takes center stage, operated by Mini’s Operating System 9 software. The car’s driving experience, screen interface, and interior lighting are all controlled by the chosen “Experience Mode” out of eight available options. Despite the lack of buttons and a cluttered dashboard, the Aceman’s interior exudes personality with its unique material usage, bold patterns, and vibrant colors throughout.

While pricing and availability for the Aceman in the U.S. remain uncertain, it is expected to be priced below the 2025 Countryman SE, which starts at $46,195. Mini enthusiasts eagerly await further details on when this electrifying crossover might hit American shores.
