Introducing the Tuthill Porsche GT One: A Carbon-Fiber Road Car That Embodies Speed and Luxury

Tuthill Porsche, a boutique builder and restoration provider, is making dreams come true for enthusiasts of the Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion. They have announced their plan to build 22 examples of this iconic carbon-fiber GT One road car. What sets the GT One apart from other homologation cars is its emphasis on being a street car first, rather than a track-focused machine.

While Tuthill Porsche avoids using the “P” word in their announcement, it’s clear that this car is inspired by the original 911 GT1 and powered by one of its descendants’ flat-six engines. Buyers have the option of choosing between a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine or a boosted variant that produces “more than” 500 and 600 horsepower, respectively. The engine is paired with either a 7-speed dual-clutch or manual transmission, allowing drivers to have control over their driving experience.

Beneath the custom carbon body, panels, and door bars, the GT One features a double wishbone suspension setup both at the front and rear. Additionally, it comes with a full FIA-style roll cage, ensuring safety during spirited driving. However, it’s important to note that the GT One is not designed for intense time attack sessions. Instead, Tuthill Porsche aims to provide a balance between racy looks and street comfort.

Despite its impressive performance capabilities, Tuthill has chosen to equip the GT One with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, which are known for their excellent performance on the street. This choice, combined with the inclusion of a carbon ceramic brake package, suggests that Tuthill is prioritizing street driving experiences rather than track performance. However, they have hinted that a track-focused aero package may be developed in the future, depending on customer demand.

Unfortunately, with fewer than 25 units scheduled for production, it’s highly likely that all of them have already been reserved by eager buyers. This limited availability may disappoint some enthusiasts who were hoping to own this remarkable piece of automotive history. Nevertheless, Tuthill Porsche’s commitment to creating a road-focused version of the iconic 911 GT1 is commendable, and it’s safe to say that those lucky enough to get their hands on one will enjoy a truly unique and exhilarating driving experience.
