Mazda Plans to Introduce Hybrid Engine in Next CX-5 Model

Mazda’s popular CX-5 model has been consistently selling well in the United States, with annual sales surpassing 100,000 units since 2015. Despite expectations that the new CX-50 would replace the CX-5, Mazda has other plans for its successful SUV. According to Mazda’s financial results for Q1 2024, the company has confirmed its intentions to equip the next generation CX-5 with a hybrid engine. This move is part of Mazda’s larger plan to electrify its lineup, which includes introducing hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of its large products, as well as a hybrid version of the CX-50.
