Meta’s Threads Social Network Launches Limited-Time Bonus Program for Creators

Threads, Meta’s social network, has recently reached 150 million monthly users, signaling its continued growth. In order to further engage users, the company has launched a limited-time bonus program for creators on Threads. This program, which was initially tested in March, is invite-only and offers individualized requirements for bonuses.

To be eligible for the bonus program, invited creators must create a public Threads profile and adhere to the rules and terms for Instagram creator incentives. The performance of their Threads posts, including views and the number of posts, will be taken into consideration for receiving bonuses. However, there are specific guidelines that creators must follow to qualify for the program.

For example, each post must receive at least 2,500 views to be eligible for bonuses. Additionally, posts with copyrighted material, no text, boosted views, watermarks from other platforms like TikTok or YouTube, or brand partnership content will not be considered for bonuses. Creators can track their earnings on the professional dashboard and may need to reach a minimum amount to receive a payout.

This bonus program could incentivize Instagram users with a significant following to post more on Threads and potentially bring their followers along. Instagram already suggests Threads to its users, so if their favorite creators start posting on the app, users may be more inclined to check it out regularly.

For creators, this program presents an opportunity to build an audience on the new platform. However, it’s important to note that the monetary benefits of this bonus program may be temporary. Meta has not provided details about long-term plans for creators to earn money on Threads.

It will be interesting to see how this limited-time bonus program affects engagement on Threads and whether it attracts more creators to the platform. As Meta continues to develop its social media ecosystem, it will likely introduce more features and opportunities for creators in the future.
