Nilu27, a start-up founded by the former design chief of Koenigsegg, is set to unveil its first hypercar at the upcoming Pebble Beach concours d’elegance. Designed by Sasha Selipanov, the mastermind behind the Koenigsegg Gemera and CC850, the Nilu Hypercar boasts a bespoke naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine. Produced by New Zealand’s Hartley Engines and positioned amidships, the engine generates an impressive 1055bhp at 11,000rpm and 634lb ft at 7000rpm. The hypercar is equipped with a seven-speed manual gearbox, allowing it to achieve a top speed of 249mph and accelerate from 0-62mph in under 3.0 seconds.
While specifics about the Hypercar’s chassis remain undisclosed, Nilu27 has revealed that it features a double-wishbone pushrod suspension system. The vehicle is also fitted with unique center-locking wheels produced by Italian company AppTech, which are paired with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires. Weighing in at 1200kg dry, the Hypercar strikes a balance between lightweight agility and raw power.
Nilu27 has ambitious plans for the Hypercar, initially producing 15 track-focused models followed by 54 street-legal versions. Additionally, the company will create four bespoke cars that further evolve the design language. Inna Selipanov, co-founder of Nilu27, expressed confidence in the enduring appeal of these hypercars, stating, “While the world is moving towards electrification, and for very good reason, we firmly believe the timelessness of these cars will not only keep them relevant but they will continue to find a place in the collections of passionate car lovers.”
