GPT-4 Turbo: OpenAI’s Advanced Language Model Upgrade
OpenAI has announced an exciting upgrade to ChatGPT with their most advanced large language model, GPT-4 Turbo. To showcase the improvements, OpenAI shared an example prompt requesting an RSVP reminder for a birthday dinner. The previous model generated a longer, wordier response compared to the concise and to-the-point reply from GPT-4 Turbo. This highlights the model’s ability to produce more concise and relevant outputs.
A graph depicting the increase in key benchmarks from an earlier version of GPT-4 Turbo to the current model shows significant improvements in math and GPQA (Graduate-Level Google-Proof Q&A). GPQA is a multiple-choice dataset that measures knowledge in biology, physics, and chemistry. While OpenAI claims that GPT-4 Turbo is now available in ChatGPT, it seems that the rollout may be gradual since some users have not yet experienced the update.
In addition to the turbo-charged upgrade, ChatGPT now has a more recent cutoff date. Previously, it had knowledge of internet data up until April 2023. However, with the latest update, ChatGPT now incorporates information up until December 2023. This enhancement allows the model to provide more up-to-date and accurate responses, making it even more useful for generating relevant information.
