blankOTK Media, in collaboration with Cash App, recently awarded a total of $50,000 to indie developers who showcased their games at the 2024 OTK Games Expo. This creator collective recognized five exceptional games based on Twitch chat’s votes.

One of the standout games at the expo was “Solar Punk,” a cozy survival city-builder developed by Cyberwave and published by rokaplay. The game offers a unique and immersive experience for players.

Another notable game was “Screenbound,” a retro platformer created by Crescent Moon Games. With its nostalgic graphics and challenging gameplay, it captured the attention of both gamers and industry experts.

“Wizordum,” a retro first-person shooter developed by Emberheart Games and published by Apogee Entertainment, also garnered recognition. The game combines classic FPS elements with modern gameplay mechanics, making it a must-play for fans of the genre.

For those seeking a lighthearted and comedic experience, “World’s Worst Handyman” was the perfect choice. This stealth simulation game from Baby Lumberjack had players navigating hilarious scenarios as they attempted to complete various handyman tasks.

Lastly, “Combo Devils” offered a unique twist on the platform fighter genre. Developed by Punkzilla, this game incorporated roguelite elements, adding depth and replayability to the gameplay.

In addition to the awards, OTK Media’s PC brand, Starforge Systems, presented the Starforge Art Star award, which came with a $10,000 cash prize. Twitch chat voted to give this award to “Solar Punk” for its exceptional art style. This brought the developer’s grant total to $20,000 combined.

Furthermore, Mad Mushroom, OTK Media’s publishing arm, shared updates on its portfolio of titles during the expo. The publisher launched its second game, “Splodey,” which challenges genre conventions by excluding a jump button. To celebrate the game’s release, it is currently offered at a 25% discount until June 18. Additionally, Mad Mushroom’s first published title, “Rumble Club,” is preparing for its second season.
