Pagani Unveils Unique Huayra Epitome with Seven-Speed Manual Transmission

Pagani, a renowned supercar and hypercar manufacturer, has always been known for its extensive customization options. However, they took customization to new heights with the creation of a one-of-a-kind Huayra equipped with a seven-speed manual transmission, named the Huayra Epitome.

This unique creation was developed by Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division in response to a customer’s request. Although the customer’s name remains undisclosed, it is evident that they played a significant role in collaborating with Pagani founder Horacio Pagani to bring their ideas to life. The planning phase alone took nine months, and an additional 10 months were required to build the stick-shifted Huayra.

Lorenzo Kerkoc, the head of Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division, explained that developing components dedicated to a single car demands just as much time and effort as those for series production cars. This demonstrates Pagani’s commitment to ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail for every vehicle they create. The transmission itself is a transverse-mounted unit built by Xtrac, a renowned manufacturer of racing gearboxes. It is worth noting that the transmission receives power from the engine via a triple-disc clutch.

Speaking of the engine, the Huayra Epitome is powered by a twin-turbocharged, 6.0-liter V12 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG exclusively for Pagani. This powerhouse generates an impressive 864 horsepower and 809 pound-feet of torque. To complement the engine’s performance, Pagani equipped the Epitome with a six-way titanium exhaust system and an electronically-controlled limited-slip differential with tripod joint axle shafts. Additionally, the vehicle features a new active suspension system with a “Super Soft” mode, further enhancing its driving dynamics.

In terms of aesthetics, the Huayra Epitome boasts several visual enhancements. It features redesigned bumpers, new-look headlights, and an integrated air extraction system in the front wheel arches. However, these changes are not solely for aesthetic purposes; the customer specifically requested a splitter on the front bumper to increase downforce. Furthermore, the prominent rear wing serves a functional purpose, and the redesigned front air inlets improve cooling. Inside the vehicle, the highlight is undeniably the gated seven-speed shifter, which adds a touch of nostalgia and showcases the manual transmission as a valuable work of art.

As for the future of this unique creation, only time will tell. The Huayra Epitome may remain hidden away in a heated garage, saving its appearance for exclusive events like the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2070. On the other hand, it might make appearances at more casual car gatherings like cars and coffee. Regardless of where it goes, one thing is for certain – this extraordinary vehicle will not go unnoticed. Its bespoke design and manual transmission make it an exceptional piece that will undoubtedly captivate car enthusiasts and collectors alike.
