“Popster: New AI Image Generator and Collaboration Feature for Social Music-Sharing App”

Popster, a social music-sharing app, is rolling out two new features to expand its user base. The first is an AI image generator called “Albums” that allows artists to generate album cover art for their songs. This feature adds a layer of sophistication for up-and-coming artists looking to make their mark. The second feature is a collaboration capability that enables artists to remix another user’s song, similar to TikTok’s “Stitch” and “Duet” tools.

Initially launched as a song-creation tool and music video platform, Popster has evolved into a comprehensive app that allows artists to engage with other musicians, create original songs and music videos, and share them on social media. Users can record video and voice directly within the app, add stickers and color backgrounds, and experiment with various vocal effects. The app also features a community section where artists can interact with each other.

One notable aspect of Popster is its use of generative AI technology. For example, the app offers tools for generating ideas for lyrics and creating new beats to record vocals on top. Additionally, Popster uses AI technology to enhance audio quality by reducing background noise.

Popster sets itself apart from other AI music apps by utilizing Mubert’s library of royalty-free pre-made tracks. This ensures that the app does not face legal issues related to copyrighted music. Co-founder and CEO Themis Drakonakis believes that AI can serve as a creative partner for artists, helping them experiment with different sounds and unlock new ideas.

While Popster is still in its early days with only a few thousand users, it has already seen promising results. Nearly 10,000 original songs have been created on the app, and users spend an average of 1.5 hours on the platform daily.

Popster was founded by Themis Drakonakis and Sotiris Kaniras, who have previously created three other successful apps. The startup has raised $280,000 from the Realize Tech Fund and is currently in the process of raising a pre-seed funding round to further enhance its team and video server. Future plans include launching paid features and partnering with music labels.

Overall, Popster’s new features and AI capabilities position it as a promising platform for artists looking to create, collaborate, and share their music. With its user-friendly interface and growing community, Popster aims to become a go-to app for musicians seeking to showcase their talent. The app is currently available for download on the App Store.
