Pre-Order the New Lunar Lake-Powered Dell XPS 13 with AI Capabilities

Dell has announced that its new XPS 13 laptop, powered by Lunar Lake CPUs, is now available for pre-order on the Dell website. The laptop starts at $1,399.99 and is set to be released in mid-September.

The highlight of the new XPS 13 is its Lunar Lake CPUs, which come with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for seamless AI functions such as content generation and editing. The laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 288V processor, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage.

The XPS 13 is not new to AI capabilities, as Dell has previously sold a CoPilot+ PC version with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X series CPU. However, the new Lunar Lake-powered model offers better optimization with up to 48 Tera Operations per Second (TOPS) of AI performance, compared to the Snapdragon chip’s 45 TOPS. Additionally, the new model avoids the app compatibility issues that arise with Arm-related processors.

In terms of design, the new XPS 13 remains similar to its predecessor, featuring an edge-to-edge keyboard and glass haptic touchpad. It comes in Graphite and Platinum finishes and is still compatible with a tandem OLED display. The OLED model measures just 0.58 inches thin and weighs 2.6 pounds, while the FHD+ and QHD+ configurations are slightly thicker and heavier.

Battery life has also been improved, with the XPS 13 offering up to 26 hours of battery life with an FHD+ display, compared to the 18 hours of the previous Intel-powered model. However, it is worth noting that real-world usage may vary.

As for Dell’s other XPS laptops, there is no information yet on whether they will receive the same Intel Core Ultra 200V series treatment. Dell’s representative declined to discuss future products and roadmaps.

Overall, the new Dell XPS 13 with Lunar Lake CPUs offers enhanced AI capabilities, improved performance, and extended battery life. With its sleek design and powerful specifications, it is set to be a popular choice among tech enthusiasts. Interested customers can now pre-order the laptop on the Dell website.
