“Remedy Partners with Annapurna Interactive for Control 2 and Film/TV Adaptations”

Remedy, the developer of the popular video game Control, has announced a partnership with Annapurna Interactive to work on the development of Control 2 and to bring Control and its sibling franchise, Alan Wake, to the world of film and television. This collaboration will allow Remedy to create Control 2 exactly as they envision it, with Annapurna co-financing the project.

Earlier this year, Remedy acquired the rights to Control from their former partner, 505 Games, giving them full control over the franchise. They also expressed their intention to find partners for the development of Control 2. It seems that Annapurna, known for publishing indie titles, was the perfect fit for Remedy.

Mikael Kasurinen, creative director of the Control franchise, and Juha Vainio, executive producer, released a joint statement expressing their excitement about the partnership. They mentioned that Annapurna’s creative values align perfectly with Remedy’s, making them an inspiring partner for the journey ahead. They also revealed that Control 2 is already in development and is looking amazing.

Remedy CEO Tero Virtala emphasized that now is the right time to expand their franchises to a global audience. He expressed his enthusiasm about Annapurna being the perfect partner to bring the universes and characters they have created to life in new mediums, thanks to this unique deal.

This partnership between Remedy and Annapurna Interactive is a promising development for fans of the Control franchise. It not only ensures the development of Control 2 according to Remedy’s vision but also opens up possibilities for the franchise to reach a wider audience through film and television adaptations. With Annapurna’s reputation for supporting creative and innovative projects, fans can expect exciting and immersive storytelling in both the gaming and entertainment industries.
