Riot Games Bringing Valorant to Consoles with Limited Beta Test

Riot Games, the developer behind popular titles like League of Legends, has announced that it is bringing its hit tactical shooter, Valorant, to consoles. This news was revealed at the Summer Games Fest, where Riot Games presented the limited beta announcement for the console version of Valorant. Starting June 14, players in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan can register for the beta test.

Arnar Gylfason, the production director of Valorant at Riot Games, emphasized the importance of delivering the same competitive experience to console players as PC players have enjoyed. Gylfason stated that they were committed to providing a precise, team-based, tactical shooter that feels natural on a controller. He acknowledged that ultimately, it will be up to the players to decide if they have achieved this goal.

This move into the console market is significant for Riot Games, as their flagship title, League of Legends, is not available on consoles. However, Riot Games has an existing relationship with Xbox, as Game Pass members can unlock in-game content in some of Riot’s titles. This partnership will also provide valuable experience for Riot Games as they prepare to launch their upcoming fighting game, 2XKO.

To maintain competitive integrity, Riot Games will not allow crossplay between the PC and console versions of Valorant. However, players’ accounts will be able to share their inventory and gameplay progression across platforms. Additionally, Riot Games plans to release all live patch balances, new agents, maps, premium content, and additional live service features simultaneously on both PC and consoles.

Players worldwide can find more information about the limited Valorant beta and register for it today. This partnership between GamesBeat and Lil Snack allows gamers to engage with customized games that are tailored to the GamesBeat audience. This collaboration aims to provide an exciting and immersive way for gamers to interact with the GamesBeat content they already love.
