Riot Games has introduced Vyse, the newest agent for their popular game Valorant. Vyse is a defensive Sentinel hero who utilizes liquid metal to trap and disarm aggressive players. The goal of Vyse is to tackle duelists who take up space on the map, providing a unique solution that goes beyond simply stalling the opponent. Kevin Meier, a game designer at Riot Games, describes Vyse’s abilities as being similar to a spider web, allowing players to enter but delivering a killing blow when they are stuck.

While Vyse may not have the same information gathering abilities as other Sentinel agents, she makes up for it with her flexible trap setups and the ability to lock down an area against multiple enemies. Additionally, Vyse is equipped with a flash bang, making her the first agent in her role to have a true flash. This flash bang serves to keep her defensive toolkit relevant even when players are on the attack, encouraging players to experiment with different team compositions.

Vyse made her official debut during the Valorant Champions Seoul tournament. Riot teased her reveal prior to the broadcast, generating excitement among the game’s community. Vyse is the first agent to be released since Clove in March 2024 and the first Sentinel agent since Chamber joined the roster in November 2021.

Vyse will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S starting August 28, 2024, as part of Valorant Episode 9 Act II. This marks the first agent release since the launch of Valorant’s console editions earlier in the same month.

Now let’s take a closer look at Vyse’s abilities. One of her abilities is Arc Rose, which allows players to blind enemies by placing invisible or wall-mounted Arc Roses. Another ability, Shear, creates a hidden wall trap that bursts from the ground when an enemy crosses its path. This ability is useful for separating opponents, protecting an area, or blocking escape routes. Vyse’s third ability, Razorvine, launches a nest of liquid metal that slows and damages enemies who pass through it. Finally, Vyse’s ultimate ability, Steel Garden, jams enemy primary weapons after a brief windup, disabling their ability to use them effectively.

Overall, Vyse brings a unique and tactical playstyle to Valorant with her trap-based abilities and the ability to neutralize aggressive players. Her introduction adds depth to the game’s roster of agents and provides players with new strategic options. Whether you prefer a defensive or offensive playstyle, Vyse offers versatility that can be utilized in various team compositions. So, get ready to master the art of trapping and disarming your opponents with Vyse in Valorant!
