The company plans to allow creators to sell avatar bundles, which are collections of different items, on the Roblox Marketplace and within experiences. This new feature is expected to be available “in the coming months.”
Enrico D’Angelo, Roblox’s VP of economy, explained the rationale behind this move in a blog post, stating that selling avatars and items as a bundle is more convenient for users. It allows them to shop for complete looks all at once, instead of buying individual accessories. Roblox has already launched a new way to search for avatar bundles, and it has seen a positive response from users who are embracing the concept of full looks.
In addition to this announcement, Roblox shared some interesting insights about the success of creators on its platform. According to the company’s findings, creators who earn 50,000 Robux per month have increased by 85% year-over-year as of June. This demonstrates the growing potential for creators to generate revenue on Roblox. Moreover, total monthly creator earnings have seen a significant 61% year-over-year increase.
Roblox has also expanded the Marketplace to include more creators since April. As a result, creator accounts that predate this move have experienced a rise in their total earnings growth from 30% year-over-year in March to 50% year-over-year in June. This indicates that the Marketplace expansion has created more opportunities for creators to showcase their work and increase their earnings.
Enrico D’Angelo emphasized the importance of providing creators and brands with new avenues to showcase their creative vision, connect with their audience, and grow their earnings. Roblox believes that a stronger community is built when there are more incentives and opportunities for creators to make and sell their creations.
