“RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years: Audi Celebrates a Quarter Century of the Iconic Hot-Rodded Wagon”

Celebrating 25 years of its influential RS4 model, Audi has unveiled a special edition RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years. This commemorative wagon pays homage to the original RS4, which was the first high-performance wagon developed by Quattro. The RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years retains the standard model’s twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 engine but receives a power boost, producing 464 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque—an increase of about 20 horsepower.

The performance enhancements result in impressive acceleration, with the RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years capable of reaching 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds—nearly half a second quicker than the standard RS4. It also boasts a top speed of 186 mph. To complement its powerful performance, the special edition comes equipped with an RS Sport exhaust system and carbon-ceramic brakes, ensuring optimal stopping power even at high speeds.

Audi is well aware that some owners will push the RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years to its limits on the Autobahn, so they have included features that enhance handling and stability. The wagon is equipped with manually-adjustable coilovers, stiffer control arms, and a Quattro sport differential. Additionally, the transmission control unit has updated software for quicker shifts, delivering a more engaging driving experience.

To further enhance performance on the track, Audi has partnered with Pirelli to provide two sets of 20-inch wheels. The first set comes with Pirelli P Zero Corsa high-performance tires, while the second set is mounted on Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS semi-slick tires designed for track use. These tires feature Pirelli’s Track Adrenaline system, providing real-time information on each wheel’s pressure and temperature.

In terms of aesthetics, the RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years offers three striking color options: Imola Yellow, which pays tribute to the B5-generation RS4 Sport, as well as Nardo Gray and Mythos Black. Gloss black exterior trim and black inserts in the rear lights give the limited-edition wagon a distinctive look. Audi has also removed the roof rails for a sleeker appearance. Inside, the cabin features yellow stitching and a center console engraved with the car’s serial number, adding a touch of exclusivity.

Limited to just 250 units, the RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years is priced at €142,905 (approximately $154,900). While this price may seem steep compared to the regular-production RS4 Avant’s base price of €87,500 (around $94,800), the special edition offers enhanced performance, unique design elements, and a sense of nostalgia for Audi enthusiasts. Sales will begin in June 2024, and buyers will have the opportunity to purchase a matching commemorative watch, limited to 250 units, to complement their new RS4 Avant Edition 25 Years.
