Ruf Introduces the 2025 Rodeo: An Off-Road Beast with Retro Styling

Ruf, the renowned German automobile manufacturer, is breaking new ground with its latest creation, the 2025 Rodeo. In a departure from their usual offerings, Ruf has designed an off-road beast that combines speed and style. Taking inspiration from the Porsche 911 Dakar and Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, the Rodeo features a retro-styled chassis reminiscent of the 964 911.

Despite its classic appearance, the Rodeo boasts modern technology and engineering. It shares its carbon fiber monocoque body and chassis with Ruf’s CTR Anniversary and SCR road-going coupes. However, the Rodeo has been given its own unique touches. The custom bumpers, with their overrider-inspired slots, serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. The front bumpers provide air intake, while the rear incorporates the exhaust. Massive boxy fender flares have been added to accommodate the Rodeo-specific Goodyear all-terrain tires, mounted on forged center-lock wheels. Completing the rugged look are a ducktail spoiler and metal-finish roof rails.

But the transformation goes beyond the exterior. Ruf has reworked the double-wishbone, pushrod suspension with electronically adjustable shocks to adapt it for off-road use. The ground clearance measures an impressive 9.5 inches, the same as the Subaru Outback Wilderness. Behind the forged wheels lie cross-drilled carbon ceramic brakes, ensuring optimal stopping power.

Under the hood, the Rodeo packs a punch. A dry-sump turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six engine generates an impressive 610 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. With a weight of 2,756 pounds, the Rodeo can reach a top speed of 155 mph. Unlike its siblings, the SCR and CTR Anniversary, the Rodeo distributes power to all four wheels. The power split can be adjusted through a screen in the cabin, allowing for rear-wheel drive when maximum driftability is desired. However, utilizing the limited-slip differentials at each end necessitates power distribution to both the front and rear wheels.

Turning our attention to the interior, Ruf has not neglected to infuse the Rodeo with their signature style. While the standard model features a black Alcantara interior, the reveal car showcases a custom interior inspired by the Rodeo’s name. The seats, with their distinctive “lollipop” backs, are upholstered in saddle brown leather and woven cloth inspired by Southwestern U.S. and Mexican patterns. The leather extends throughout the cabin, including the cargo area behind the front seats. Classic Porsche elements, such as white-on-black analog gauges and titanium pedals, add a touch of nostalgia to the modern interior.

Regarding availability and pricing, Ruf has not yet provided specific details. However, enthusiasts can expect the Rodeo to be released in the near future, albeit at a premium price point. The standard color options include orange (as seen in the reveal car), olive green, brown, blue, and burgundy red, all with a black interior. For those with deep pockets, Ruf offers custom work to personalize the Rodeo even further.

The 2025 Ruf Rodeo represents a bold and exciting leap for the company. By combining the performance and style of a sports car with the off-road capabilities of an SUV, Ruf has created a truly unique and captivating vehicle. Whether tearing up dirt roads or cruising down the highways, the Rodeo promises an exhilarating and unforgettable driving experience.
