Salesforce, the leading CRM company, has announced that it will be integrating AI tools into its Mulesoft platform to enhance its capabilities for efficient data extraction and workflow automation. This comes shortly after the launch of Einstein Copilot for Tableau, another core product of Salesforce. The new AI tools are set to become generally available in the coming months and will include an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) tool and the integration of the Einstein assistant across the board.
The IDP tool is designed to extract and organize data from diverse documents, such as PDFs and images. It uses pre-trained AI models with pre-configured templates to automate the entire document processing lifecycle. Similar capabilities are offered by other vendors, including Snowflake’s Document AI offering. IDP integrates with the Anypoint platform as well as automation solutions Flow and RPA, allowing users to automate the integration of the extracted data with downstream Salesforce systems. It can be used for various tasks, such as budget reconciliation, order fulfillment, and supplier onboarding. Salesforce plans to make IDP generally available by the end of April.
In addition to IDP, Salesforce’s Einstein AI assistant will also power other Mulesoft solutions. For Flow, Einstein will enable admins to create automated workflows using natural language prompts. This includes marketing journeys and data cloud-triggered automations. Users of the Anypoint Code Builder, MuleSoft’s IDE for designing, developing, and deploying APIs and integrations, will be able to ask the assistant to generate new integration flows. Salesforce has not provided a specific timeline for the availability of Einstein for Flow and Einstein for Anypoint Code Builder, but they are expected to launch in the coming years.
The integration of AI tools into Mulesoft is expected to simplify work for developers and business teams, making them more productive and accelerating the time to value. Salesforce has been focusing on improving both IT and business teams’ experience with Mulesoft since its acquisition. For IT teams, the Anypoint integration and API platform allow for seamless connection of systems and data sources with Salesforce CRM. For business users, there are automation solutions like Mulesoft RPA and Composer.
The introduction of AI tools into Mulesoft is a significant step for Salesforce as it continues to enhance its products with cutting-edge technologies. The company is committed to empowering its customers with innovative solutions that streamline processes and drive business growth. With the integration of AI capabilities, Mulesoft users can expect improved efficiency, accuracy, and automation in their data extraction and workflow management tasks.
