Skoda UK has recently unveiled a unique version of their Superb model called the Sleeper Edition. Despite its unassuming appearance, this car packs a punch with supercar levels of performance. The Sleeper Edition is based on the Laurin & Klement 4×4 version of the outgoing Mk3 estate, but its turbocharged 2.0-litre four-pot engine has been upgraded to produce an impressive 470bhp, up from the original 276bhp. In terms of appearance, the Superb Sleeper retains the same look as the regular Superb, featuring Royal Green metallic paint and Cognac leather upholstery. The car was built by RE Performance, the same company that modified a Skoda Octavia to reach a top speed of 227mph on the Bonneville salt flats. However, the Sleeper Edition is a one-off model and will not be available for public purchase. Instead, it serves as a celebration of the Mk3 Superb, which recently went off sale after selling an impressive 860,000 units globally.
