Tesla Cybertruck Owners Warned About Potential Injury from Closing Doors

Tesla Cybertruck owners have been cautioned to exercise caution when closing the vehicle’s doors due to the angular design. A Tesla owner shared their personal experience on the Cybertruck Owners Club forum, warning others to be careful when closing the doors. The owner revealed that they had parked their Cybertruck on an incline and as they were closing the door, they accidentally clipped the corner of the door against their leg, resulting in a deep cut that required stitches.

The owner acknowledged that while the corner of the Cybertruck’s door may not seem sharp, they had closed it forcefully, causing the injury. They even included a photo of the bloody cut and the corner of the door that had caused the damage. Despite the incident, the owner still expressed their love for the Cybertruck and took responsibility for their own clumsiness in this particular situation.

Tesla has addressed this issue in its owner’s manual, advising Cybertruck owners to exercise caution around the panel edges, including the doors, frunk (front trunk), tailgate, and surrounding panels. The manual also highlights the importance of grasping the door from the top when opening it and keeping hands and fingers away from the opening edge. Neglecting to follow these proper opening procedures can potentially result in injury, according to Tesla.

Another commenter on the forum shared their own experience of cutting their finger while washing their Cybertruck due to its sharp angles. Although their injury was not as severe as the initial poster’s, it still drew blood. The commenter acknowledged the lesson learned and expressed their intention to pay closer attention to the sharp edges in the future.

Interestingly, some Cybertruck owners have reported injuring their fingers intentionally by closing the front trunk on them to test out its safety sensor. This trend was sparked by a viral video of a Tesla owner demonstrating the frunk sensor, which led others to try it out as well. Unfortunately, one user ended up with a deep cut and had to use a finger splint as a result.

It is crucial for Cybertruck owners to be mindful of the potential risks associated with the angular design of the vehicle’s doors. While the Cybertruck stands out for its unique and futuristic appearance, it is important to exercise caution when using its various features and be aware of the potential dangers they may pose. Ultimately, understanding and adhering to the recommended safety guidelines provided by Tesla can help prevent accidents and injuries among Cybertruck owners.
