“The Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept Unveiled at 2024 Beijing Auto Show: A Stunning Electric Sport Sedan”

At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, Genesis unveiled the stunning Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept. This sport sedan is distinct from the gas-powered G80 Magma, which was recently showcased at the NY Auto Show and is available for purchase in the Middle East. While the G80 Magma is already a production car, the G80 EV Magma Concept is currently only a prototype.

Despite being a concept, the G80 EV Magma looks remarkably close to production-ready. It shares many aesthetic similarities with its gas-powered counterpart but manages to differentiate itself with unique features. One of the most noticeable elements is its Acme Blue paint, specially chosen for its debut in China. This vibrant color was inspired by extra-hot blue flames and represents both China’s progress and the ever-evolving nature of the Magma program.

The exterior enhancements of the G80 EV Magma Concept complement its bold blue paint. It features an aggressive front grille, wider fenders at the front and rear, 21-inch wheels (with wider rear tires), a lower ride height, a prominent lip spoiler, a rear diffuser, and a bumper-integrated fog lamp reminiscent of race cars.

In terms of performance upgrades, Genesis has tuned the suspension of the G80 EV Magma Concept to provide enhanced road-holding and cornering capabilities. Additionally, it boasts larger, ventilated brakes and lightweight wheels designed to optimize airflow to the brakes for improved cooling. Unfortunately, Genesis has not provided specific details about the powertrain, suggesting that it may not have been extensively modified for this concept.

While no interior photos have been released, Genesis reveals that the G80 EV Magma Concept incorporates exquisite materials such as Alcantara, quilted leather, and carbon fiber. The carbon fiber features a matching blue weave to maintain visual harmony with the striking exterior.

Beyond the concept car, Genesis also showcased an updated version of its Electrified G80 with a long wheelbase at the Beijing Auto Show. This variant, intended exclusively for the Chinese market, is finished in a unique blue paint called “Vision Blue.” Continuing the blue theme, its interior boasts epic, quilted blue leather throughout. The longer wheelbase, extended by 5.1 inches, gives this version of the G80 a profile more akin to the upscale G90 than the standard G80 Electrified it is based on. Other refinements include a revised front fascia, 19-inch dish-style wheels, and luxurious reclining VIP seats in the rear. While the long-wheelbase G80 Electrified will not be available in the United States, it certainly captivates viewers with its elegant design.

In conclusion, the Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept and the long-wheelbase Electrified G80 showcased at the Beijing Auto Show demonstrate Genesis’ commitment to electric mobility and its ability to create visually striking vehicles. With their unique features and attention to detail, these models not only cater to Chinese consumers but also exemplify Genesis’ dedication to advancing the electric vehicle segment worldwide.
