“The New Audi A5: Prices, Models, and Powertrains Revealed for UK Market”

The new Audi A5 has officially gone on sale in the UK, with prices starting at £41,950. The A5 is the replacement for the A4, which will be relaunched as an electric vehicle next year. This marks the first time in three decades that Audi has not offered a model badged A4. The A5 is available in both saloon and estate bodystyles and offers a choice between petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

One of the key features of the new A5 is Audi’s new MHEV Plus system, which is a mild-hybrid system that utilizes two generators. This system provides improved regenerative braking power, allowing the car to recuperate up to 25kW of energy. It also reduces the use of friction brakes and charges the battery more quickly. The A5 initially offers a range of pure internal combustion engine (ICE) and mild-hybrid powertrains, with a plug-in hybrid powertrain with an electric-only range of 62 miles set to be available next year.

The A5 range starts with the Sport trim, which includes standard features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights, and a 360-degree parking camera. The S Line trim adds larger 19-inch wheels, sports suspension, and various sporty styling cues. There is also a limited-run Edition 1 trim, which includes 20-inch two-tone wheels and matrix LED headlights. The range-topping S5 model, which uses a 3.0-liter petrol V6 engine, is available exclusively in Edition 1 guise.

Visually, the A5 is an evolution of the A4, with a smooth-edged design and flared wheel arches. The interior features a large curved display on the dashboard, split into an 11.9-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen. An additional 10.9-inch touchscreen can be added for the front passenger’s entertainment.

Overall, the new Audi A5 offers a range of powertrain options, including mild-hybrid technology, and a stylish design with advanced features. With its competitive pricing and Audi’s reputation for quality, the A5 is sure to be a popular choice among UK car buyers.
