“The Next Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio: A Powerful and Intelligent Car Arriving in 2026”

Alfa Romeo is set to release its most powerful car yet, the next-generation Giulia Quadrifoglio, in 2026. The car will be built on Stellantis’s new STLA Large platform, which is designed to accommodate electric, hybrid, and combustion powertrains. The platform is expected to enable the Giulia Quadrifoglio to achieve power outputs of around 1000bhp. Additionally, the car will feature onboard artificial intelligence known as STLA Brain, which will adjust the handling characteristics in real-time based on the driver’s preferences.

The STLA Large platform has already been showcased in the Dodge Charger Daytona, which offers an electric motor on each axle and a battery pack that can be recharged from 20-80% in just 27 minutes. Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has stated that the charging time for the next-generation Giulia will be further reduced to within 18 minutes. The vehicle will also be equipped with a 118kWh battery pack, providing a range of approximately 500 miles.

While Alfa Romeo has committed to achieving 100% zero-emission sales by 2027, there is a possibility that the next Giulia could still offer a combustion engine due to the weakening of Euro 7 emissions legislation. Alfa Romeo’s product chief, Daniel Guzzafame, stated that the brand’s transition to electric vehicles would depend on the regulations. However, Imparato has expressed openness to keeping combustion-engined cars on sale for longer if allowed by legislation.

In terms of design, the next-generation Giulia will incorporate several elements inspired by Alfa Romeo’s heritage. For instance, it will feature a double-cowled ‘cannocchiale’ instrument panel that displays only essential information about the car’s state. The car will also reintroduce the iconic ‘Coda Tronca’ rear end. However, Alfa Romeo’s design boss, Alejandro Mesonero-Romano, emphasized the importance of creating a modern vehicle that appeals to today’s generation while still paying homage to classic design elements.

As part of Alfa Romeo’s plans for global growth, the brand will expand its lineup with the introduction of the Milano SUV, the new-generation Stelvio, and an electric Porsche Cayenne rival in the coming years. There are also hints at the revival of the Autotutto van as an MPV for the Chinese market and the possibility of bringing back the GTV and Spider Duetto as electric cars. However, Alfa Romeo has stated that a reborn Spider will only be possible once the brand has a more mainstream-oriented lineup of five models.

Overall, the next-generation Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio promises to be a technologically advanced and powerful vehicle that combines modern design elements with nods to the brand’s rich heritage. With its high power output, long-range capabilities, and intelligent onboard systems, the Giulia Quadrifoglio is poised to make a significant impact in the automotive market.
