Unleash the Power: Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing to Offer Precision Package in 2025

Cadillac has announced that it will be offering a new Precision Package for the highly anticipated 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing sedan. The CT5-V Blackwing is a powerful V8 rear-wheel-drive sedan that delivers an impressive 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. This performance beast comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, making it a dream car for track rats and driving enthusiasts.

The Precision Package focuses on enhancing the car’s suspension and handling capabilities. Engineers have made several improvements, including a larger front stabilizer and all-new bushings, as well as firmer spring rates. The front end of the car now features new steering knuckles, while the rear has new toe links. These upgrades allow for more aggressive wheel alignment, further improving the car’s performance on the track.

Car & Driver had the opportunity to test the CT5-V Blackwing with the Precision Package at Virginia International Raceway. According to their review, the changes in the suspension are impressive. The front spring rates are now 70% stiffer, and the rear spring rates are 60% stiffer. Additionally, the rear cradle bushing is a staggering 1,000% stiffer. These adjustments provide a more responsive and stable driving experience.

The Precision Package also allows for more alignment possibilities. The front wheels can now have up to 2.8 degrees of negative camber, 0.4 degrees more than the stock version. The rear wheels can have up to two degrees of negative camber, 0.5 degrees more than stock. The CT5-V Blackwing now comes with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and customers can choose to upgrade to Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, which are 10 millimeters wider than the 4S tires. These enhancements result in improved steering precision, increased stability on corner exits, and better road feel during spirited driving.

The price of the Precision Package has not been announced yet, but the base price for the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing is $96,990. It is worth noting that the Precision Package requires the existing option of carbon ceramic brakes with cross-drilled rotors, which adds an additional $9,000 to the price.

Cadillac has positioned the CT5-V Blackwing as a track-ready performance sedan. According to the chief engineer at Cadillac, the goal was to create a vehicle that could set records on some of the world’s toughest tracks. The company wants to reward the most discerning driving enthusiasts with an unforgettable experience behind the wheel.

The production of the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing has already begun, and customer units with the Precision Package will start rolling off the production line early next year. If you’re considering adding this unicorn of a car to your fleet, it may be worth waiting for the Precision Package to truly experience the full potential of the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.
